Who are Family Ambassadors? What do they do?
- Families of middle school or high school students with IEPs
- Offer support to other families by sharing their own experiences
- Share transition resources
- Meet throughout the year
- Attend trainings
- Strengthen their family to family support skills
- Learn from one another
- Provide family-focused trainings in the 2021-2022 school year!
What a family ambassador is NOT...
- Someone who attends IEP meetings with you
- Someone who works for the district (they’re volunteering their time!)
- Someone who has all the answers
