SWCSD Transition Programming

Project LIFE
Project LIFE is focused on expanding the foundational skills students need for success in future employment and offering internships at several local businesses while also receiving independent living skills training in the classroom. This program is housed at Franklin Heights High School.

Career Skills Developed
Team building, social skills, communication, technology, independent life skills, personal financial literacy, workplace safety, employment preparation, and maintaining employment
Project SEARCH
Project SEARCH offers students an opportunity to participate in a one-year employment readiness program based at Doctors Hospital. Students participate in one-hour of classroom instruction and 5 hours in internship rotation each day. All students are required to have met graduation requirements and plan to work once they complete the program.

Team building, getting around your workplace, workplace safety, technology, social skills, communication, presentation skills, interviewing skills, money management, health and wellness, job search skills and keeping a job
Career Development
Career Development is a two-year, Career Technical program that provides students with the opportunity for career exploration, career assessment, direct instruction in customer service and employability skills, and transferable industry credentials. At the completion of this program, students will have the skills and experiences needed to enter the workforce and earn a competitive wage.
