Remembering our Friend Tim Cox

Tim Cox
The South-Western City School District is heartbroken to share the passing of Transportation Supervisor Mr. Tim Cox. Since 2007, Tim’s leadership ensured safe transportation for an estimated 220,000 students during his remarkable 17 years with the district.

To honor Mr. Cox’s enduring dedication to generations of SWCSD students, our district social media profiles this week will feature a commemorative emblem in school bus colors bearing Mr. Cox’s initials.

Mr. Cox’s career exemplified a commitment to excellence and service. From coordinating transportation logistics to and from school and athletic events to implementing bus safety programs, he was a leader who worked tirelessly to support the district’s mission. Mr. Cox also was instrumental in implementing and facilitating the district’s annual First Time Rider Event for families of preschool and kindergarten students to experience riding a bus together for the first time each August. His career began as a school bus driver, followed by roles in emergency medical services, and later as a transportation branch manager before joining SWCSD.

Tim’s legacy as a leader, colleague, and friend will not be forgotten. The South-Western City School District extends its deepest sympathies to Mr. Cox’s family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
