Our Vision and Mission

Endless Opportunity
When the South Western City School District was formed in 1956, it was with the goal of ensuring every school-age child within the 119-sq-mile area southwest of Columbus would receive the exceptional support and high-quality education needed to thrive in life. The neighborhoods we brought together were diverse and widespread. The traditions of our students rich and multifaceted. And our unwavering resolve—to offer limitless opportunities through the creation of a robust educational standard for all students—has not only held strong but has actually grown deeper with time.

When you step inside any one of our 33 schools, you’ll discover that our similarities far outweigh our differences. Within our walls, we’re connected by a deep sense of community pride and inclusion. We’re determined and driven to be the best we can be. We focus on the future and innovation and work for a common good. We solve problems together and care for and support one another, offering every student what they need to reach their fullest potential in a vibrant learning community. We value the distinct neighborhoods that support us as we grow together in one unified district. We are strong. We are resilient. We are South Western City Schools and our opportunities are endless.
