At Your Bus Stop
- Maintain social distancing when waiting for the school bus
- Masks are recommended, not required.
- Do not play in the street or in your neighbor's yard.
- Be at the bus stop on time - 5 minutes before the bus arrives.
- Wait for the bus in a single line - do not push.
- Never talk to strangers. If you are approached by a stranger, call 911 and/or run away to safety.
- Do not get into a car with strangers.
- Wear clothes that are right for the weather and are bright so drivers can see you.
- Wait for the bus driver to tell you it's safe to cross the street.
Getting on Your School Bus
- All students must wear a cloth mask or face covering when riding the school bus
- Wait until the bus comes to a complete stop.
- Line up as the bus gets close - 10 steps away from the curb and socially distanced.
- Wait for the bus driver to tell you it's safe to cross the street.
- Take 10 giant steps in front of the bus before crossing the street in a socially distant manner.
- Wait your turn to get on the bus. Every child will have an assigned seat.
- The bus will be populated from back to front so students are not passing near each other.
- We will seat a maximum of two students per seat, which is recommended by FCPH.
- Use the handrail to get on the bus so you don't fall. Handrails will be sanitized frequently.
Riding on Your School Bus
- Go directly to your assigned seat.
- Stay in your seat.
- Face the front of the bus with your feet toward the floor.
- Keep your hands and feet out of the aisle.
- Keep your books in your lap.
- Do not throw things in the school bus or out the bus windows.
- Wait for the bus to stop before standing.
- Listen to the bus driver.
Exiting Your School Bus
- The bus driver will direct students to exit the bus by seat number, beginning with the front of the school bus.
- Once you have exited the school bus, please follow individual school instructions for entering the building.
