The Accelerated Learning Center is designed to deliver services in a half-day format - from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. or Noon to 3:00 p.m. daily.
Students attend classes at the Accelerated Learning Center for half of the school day while attending their home high school for the other half of the day. Shuttles between students' home high school and the ALC are made available.
This format allows our students the opportunity to take college-level, rigorous coursework while benefiting from all of the experiences high school has to offer.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How is College Credit Plus (CCP) different from dual enrollment or Post Secondary Enrollment Options?
A: This unique opportunity provides additional CHOICES for SWCSD students. Students can work CCP into their daily schedule in a secure and safe site within the school district with district-provided transportation, if desired.
Q: Will CCP replace Post Secondary Enrollment Options?
A: Yes.
Q: What if I only want to take one course, not the full program?
A: Students registering for the full program will get the first seats. If additional seats are available in classes after everyone has registered, additional students may sign up for one or two classes. Students not enrolling into the full program will be required to provide their own transportation to and from the ALC.
Q: How much will this cost the student?
A: There is little or no cost to students.
Q: What does 'transcripted credit' mean?
A: It means the student earns both high school and college credit at the same time and the credits will transfer to any public college in Ohio - Ohio State, Miami University, Cleveland State, Ohio University
Q: Will the course grades be weighted?
A: Yes, they will be weighted the same as Advanced Placement courses, assuming students earn grades of "C" or better.
Q: I play an instrument/ sing in the choir. Can I still take band/choir/orchestra and attend the ALC?
A: Yes.
Q: I am an athlete at my home school. How will this have an effect on my athletic eligibility?
A: The ALC courses count toward graduation requirements. There should be no negative effect on athletic eligibility, but student athletes should review their course schedules with their school counselor for confirmation.
Q: What are the transportation arrangements to and from my home school?
A: Those students enrolled in a full program at the ALC will be provided with a shuttle bus from their home high school to and from the ALC. Students enrolling in less than a full program will need to transport themselves.
Q: Can I still take dual credit courses on a college campus?
A: Yes.
Q: Will I still be able to meet all of the requirements for high school graduation if I enroll in the ALC?
A: Students can earn all of the required course credits for graduation through the ALC programs. Students should work closely with their school counselor to ensure all of the requirements are met.
Q: CSCC is on semesters and SWCSD is on quarters. What happens during semester down time?
A: If the ALC course ends and SWCSD is still in session, ALC students will have the opportunity to ‘lock out’ or work with school staff to appropriately design a schedule at their home high schools.
